Kanwar Chadha is a well-known entrepreneur, visionary and angel investor. Popularly known as “Mr. GPS”, he is famous for his role in bringing GPS to mainstream consumers through SiRF Technology, a company he cofounded and took public in 2004. He was also a cofounder & CEO of Inovi, a developer of innovative millimeter wave, multigigabit wireless technology, which was sold to Facebook and is the foundation for Facebook’s Terragraph product family. Earlier, he cofounded and was Chairman of AQuesT, a developer of multimedia and 3D graphics acceleration products. He started his career at Intel as product line manager for the i860 RISC processor and numeric coprocessors. He also served as the GM of the multimedia group at S3 Inc. He has served as a member Board of Directors of two public companies SiRF (Nasdaq) and CSR (LSE).
Currently, Kanwar is Executive Chairman of Akiro Inc, Argoid Inc. and Binatone and Hubble Global, and Board member of Wordly. His focus is on exploring mainstream applications for Geospatial, Geolocation, AI and IoT technologies and he is passionate about helping start-ups with roots in Indo-US collaboration.
Kanwar received his B.Tech. in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and his MS in CIS from Penn Engineering simultaneously with an MBA from the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania. He holds many patents in GPS-enabled location technology and communications fields.
As a former satellite imagery analyst, Kevin Pomfret has spent over 30 years in the space and geospatial communities in a variety of matters. He has assisted numerous space and geospatial companies in raising capital, mergers and acquisitions and private equity transactions. In addition, he counsels these businesses on commercial and government contracts and mitigating foreign ownership, control and influence (FOCI). He also advises companies on U.S. regulatory and licensing matters associated with space operations.
Kevin is a member of the Department of Commerce’s Advisory Committee on Commercial Remote Sensing. A recognized industry leader, he is called on to speak around the globe on this growing topic critical to issues of privacy, national security and economic development. Kevin was recently recognized by Who's Who Legal as an outstanding lawyer in the transport - international space and satellites market, one of only 47 attorneys selected for this honor. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America© (2021), and Geospatial World named Kevin Geospatial Ambassador of the Year at its annual Geospatial World Forum in 2022.
Kevin earned his J.D. degree from the Washington & Lee University School of Law and his B.A. degree from Bates College.
