The India–Taiwan Space and Geospatial Bilateral Business Summit, held from 07–08 July 2025 in Taiwan, represents a significant milestone in the strengthening of Indo-Taiwanese collaboration in the high-impact sectors of space technology and geospatial sciences. Organized by the Geospatial World Chamber of Commerce, with Geospatial World as the knowledge partner, the event brought together key stakeholders, industry leaders, and policymakers from both nations to foster dialogue, build partnerships, and explore avenues for mutual growth.
The Summit featured a series of strategic engagements, including the main conference on 07 July 2025, a Networking Reception on the same day, and curated Industry Visits spanning 07–08 July 2025. These events served as a dynamic platform for discussing innovations, commercial opportunities, and collaborative frameworks within the evolving geospatial and space technology ecosystems.
The Summit also formed a part of the broader Trade Mission Taiwan, reflecting the expanding economic and strategic convergence between India and Taiwan. Since the introduction of India’s “Look East Policy” in 1991 and Taiwan’s complementary “New Southbound Policy,” both nations have increasingly prioritized bilateral engagement. Their economic relationship has matured into a vibrant partnership centered on trade, investment, and technology exchange.
Bilateral trade between India and Taiwan continues to show robust growth. Taiwan’s exports to India reached USD 6.013 billion with a 13% year-on-year increase, making India Taiwan’s 12th largest export market. Conversely, Taiwan’s imports from India stood at USD 2.211 billion. Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) from Taiwan into India has also shown a notable uptick, surpassing USD 665 million over the five years leading up to 2023, a significant rise compared to USD 277 million between 2006 and 2017.
Against this backdrop of deepening economic and technological ties, the Summit served as a critical conduit for fostering business development, encouraging joint ventures, and accelerating collaborative innovation in the space and geospatial sectors. The event underscored the mutual commitment of India and Taiwan to leverage synergies for a shared and sustainable future.
